Definition
English: Analysis making it possible to evaluate the contribution of a refrigerating system to global warming. For a given system, TEWI takes into account:
– the direct global warming effect of the refrigerant under certain conditions where emissions of the refrigerant take place (loss or leakage) with or without partial recovery;
– the indirect global warming effect caused by CO2 emissions due to the production of the energy (electricity or direct combustion) needed to operate the refrigerating system throughout its entire life cycle.
